Meet Nami

A ferret! Nami is new to the Alarcon family and she is loved by all (well almost all). 3/5 family members enjoy her company. Grandma Alarcon is still getting used to her, but we see her trying to hide her smile. Her brother, Cody Alarcon, is super jealous of her. Hopefully, he doesn't try to eat her one day.

How did I aquire such a thing? I got her from Petco, haha. I know that most ferrets are impulsive buys, but I have alway wanted to own one. After Halloweekend, my cousin and I drove to Petco, saw her, and fell in love. She was so playful and was begging us to take her. So, we did. Although she was an "impulsive buy", I plan to keep her until the day I die. I am willing to dedicate most of my time to her and maintain her happiness.

Nami's full name is actually Nanami Alarcon. Although many people know Nanami from an anime Jujutsu Kaisen, her name is really taken from the main character of Kamisama Kiss. My cousin and I share a love for that anime and thought it would be a perfect fit. Turns out, it was! Both are extremely clumsy and a bit on the air-headed side. So, why do we call her Nami? Well, my father thought it was too long to say if we called her, so he shortened it to Nami. He also says it's a shortened version of tsunami (she's incredibly messy). Becuase her name is shortened to Nami, I like to think about the character from One Piece, who is a thief, just like my little girl (she steals our slippers).

Ferrets sleep a lot and Nami is no different. She spends most of her day sleeping and only comes out for about four hours. While asleep, she looks like a dead opposum. Doesn't she look like those ones from Ice Age? Continuing, she really does know how to scare me when she sleeps, she tends to not move at all.
